Our trip to the cook islands were wonderful. Everything about our stay was great. Both places we stayed were really nice and the people were very friendly. The Aitutaki Escapes were absolutely amazing. We were the only 2 staying there except for the 1st night. We basically had 1:1 service there. Vani, the manager was great and he made sure our stay was wonderful. The people on that island were the nicest people but most of them on rarotonga were very friendly too. Little polynesian was nice but it wasn't as great as the escapes. Thanks for all your help.
We had a great time on our trip. I am so glad we stayed at Aitutaki Village - it was gorgeous - that location can not be beat! and the staff was very friendly. A couple nice places to eat nearby that we walked to were The Koru Cafe and The Boat Shed. Island Hoppers was also great - our flight landed late and a rep from air New Zealand got us off the plane first and walked us through immigration and customs step by step and when we got to Island Hoppers, she had all of our documents ready to go - what a welcome!!
The villas at Moana Sands were well appointed and brand new!! The beach was beautiful - the snorkelling was great right off the beach.
Our trip with Teking was also wonderful. We loved the giant clams and Honeymoon and One Foot Islands. Also, the food they prepared for us on the private tour was the best meal we had the entire trip. It was unbelievable!!
Also, we went scuba diving with Bubbles Below, our son did a resort dive and our instructor stayed with him the entire time. He gave us coconuts to feed the fish and we saw giant sea turtles, giant wrasse and lots of nice corals. For your scuba diving clients, I would recommend that outfitter.
Thank you for your input and putting this together for us. It was fantastic and perhaps the most beautiful place I have ever visited. I felt like I was living in a postcard.
Happy New Year!
The trip was WONDERFUL!! Atiu was fabulous. You need to go!!! It is very secluded and quiet. There are no paved roads, no restaurants, no shopping but it is paradise and we want to go back. Atiu actually made Aitutaki feel like the "big city." In fact when we got to Raro it was almost culture-shock - so many people and buildings and so many cars. We can not say enough about the people - Roger at the Villas took care of us in everyway. We loved the cave tour (quite a challenging hike) and the coffee tour and spent one day on a motorbike just hanging out at all the perfect beaches around the island. We never saw another person the entire day and the beaches looked like they had not been touched by another human. Dave got to go hunting Mina birds (they are a huge menace on the island) and learned a new way to fish from the reef. He caught parrot fish which were delicious. It is a place to recommend to those looking for a laid-back paradise.
Arriving back at Raro was like going home. We were recognized and welcomed by so many people!! Tom and Luckey at RBB are the best. They had a floral arrangement in our bungalow for us, a bottle of champagne and even took us out to dinner one evening. We miss them already!!
We had a great time! It was great – out of the 2 we really liked the Blue Lagoon a little better but still liked going to 2 places.
At Octopus it was nice – I think it was just a younger crowd; their Friday night “village” night was great
At BL we just met more people that were like us, not sure how to explain it but we did, I guess the timing was right with the other guests there. Also they had 2 “resort” dogs, Charlie & Caesar which made me feel better cuz I missed our 3 4-legged daughters at home. Garry & Marci (mgr’s @ BL) were great – literally within in minutes of us arriving they came up and intro’d themselves and made us feel really comfy.
Thanks again – we will definitely go back to Fiji. Carl was looking at resorts to buy when we got home… I think he decided that how we are going to retire.
Just a quick note to tell you we are having a fabulous time at Castaway. It has been beautiful here and we're looking forward to our final 4 days. Perfect so far, so thanks a ton for your suggestion to stay here.
We are back and wanted to thank you for organizing the greatest vacation! We all had a fantastic time :-) We ended up getting a little out of control by buying a bunch of pearls, upgrading to the two-bd beachfront villa at Four Seasons and even flying biz class home (which is awesome, by the way). Now, back to work to pay for all this fun! Thank you and we are looking forward to going back soon!!! Oliver almost wants to trade in the Jade Mtn idea for our anniversary next summer to go back to the South Pacific. I will keep you posted if that is what we decide.
Hope all is well with you!
I am sorry for not getting back to you sooner but things have just been crazy since I got home. The trip was great, I found the people in Fiji to be some of the nicest and friendliest I have ever dealt with. The resort was really nice, good food, nice rooms and staff. The diving was terrific and so were the dive masters. The only issue we had on the whole trip was getting bumped off our flight going to the resort so we had to take two fight in stead of one, not a big deal. We ended up getting on a earlier Fiji Air flight coming back to LA and we got upgraded to first class on this flight! That was the best fight either of us had been on. So the trip was great and we can't wait to go back. I will try and post on trip adviser when I get a chance.
Thanks for all your help.
We had the MOST amazing time!!! It was simply fantastic. Nick is still clapping three times and saying BULA before every meal/drink/whatever. I think he's stuck in Fiji BULA mood permanently! :)
Koro Sun was the perfect fit for us! Every night the "bed fairies" as I called them would turn down our bed & tuck the bed canopy netting under the mattress while we were at dinner. So romantic & it was just one of the many little things the staff did that made our stay so great. The last two nights they even upgraded us to one of the edgewater vales. If you book guests there again- and if there is anyway their budget can stretch it- the edgewater vales are the way to go! So romantic being over the water & with the most amazing sunrises....
And the food? OMG. I'm a vegetarian & was a little worried, but for apparently no good reason! The chef always made the most incredible dishes for me. Nick and I really enjoyed meal time at Koro Sun. :) The wait staff knew our names & really made us feel well cared for. Their beachside bar is underconstruction, so when we went to the beach across the street- staff would hand deliver drinks to us. Ah... I miss vacation!
I visited the rainforest spa and honestly- afterwards I thought my brain was oozing out of my ear. So unique and unlike any spa I've ever visited. Definitely recommended for future guests! There is no need for speakers with "soothing music"... the spa is stuck up in the rainforest on top of a waterfall/stream. The water & rainforest sounds were the most soothing "music" I've ever heard.
Koro Sun's activities & guides were fantastic, too. We biked, kayaked, snorkeled, visited the pearl farm, took their dolphin tour, paddle boarded, and visited a village & their waterfall. Everything we did was such a unique experience & fantastic in it's own right . Oh... side note: Nick's was training for a ski race here in Anchorage. He wanted to keep in shape & brought along his rollerblades. BAD idea. The hot pavement LITERALLY melted 4 of the 8 wheels! He kept removing melted wheels trying to limp along with less, but finally just gave it up. Even first thing in the morning after having all night to cool off the tires still melted.
Our stay in Nadi was a little different- but we knew it would be. The Sofitel was beautiful- despite the recent cyclone damage. We just didn't care for the larger hotel & bigger city as much as Savusavu. Nice stay- nothing to complain about at all- we just preferred the more intimate vibe in Savusavu at Koro Sun. Oh- & the day cruise we took out of Nadi was a blast! Excellent way to spend our last full day in Fiji. The staff on board the sailboat was top notch & the drinks were definitely flowing all day!
And... to think it NEVER rained on us! Even though we were there during the "rainy season". It rained one night while we slept- but that was it. Most days were total sunshine with no clouds...
Linda and South Seas Adventures made our dreams of honeymoon paradise possible!!! When looking for the perfect honeymoon destination, my hubby and I knew it had to be some place tropical and exotic but also within a reasonable budget. Linda made that possible by offering us a great deal to spend our honeymoon at the Lalati Resort in Fiji.
It was a week where we were completely disconnected from our extremely busy LA life and allowed us to truly connect as a couple. Linda was super easy to work with and very responsive to every question that we had along the way. You will not go wrong with choosing her as your travel agent!
Thanks again for everything.
In the few days we were there, I became close to the employees in a way I never have before. As they sang good by to us today, both my wife and I couldn't hold back the little tears that ran down our cheeks. This place is special. The resort is nice, but it was the people and seeing the culture that made this so awesome. I wish it wasn't so expensive to fly here from the states, I would like to come back with family and friends - maybe some day.
What impressed me about this resort were the people. We stayed in sea view cottage 1. It's pretty basic in furnishings and on the interior, but nestled amongst giant trees, and secluded from everyone else, I felt like I was in a old time movie. We absolutely loved it.
The food was plentiful and delicious. Three meals each day with many activities. By the time dinner came around you pretty much ate and went to bed. There wasn't much else to do. I typically slept from 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM. I can't remember the last time I had that much sleep in consecutive nights.
We stayed 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. This was our second of three places while on vacation in Fiji. I simply can't say enough good about it. The singing is amazing. They all have such beautiful voices. We attended church also and listened to some of the most beautiful singing I've ever heard. The sermon - all in Fijian was a little tough. Seemed like a lot of pulpit pounding but the music was gorgeous and it was fun to be welcomed into the village.
While at Lalati, we did the mini snorkel tour, a 3 spot snorkel tour, church, tubing, the coconut demonstration, the cooking demo, and a shark dive. Everything was fantastic. I saw lots of bull sharks and had a blast diving but I also enjoyed simpler things like the coconut demonstration just about as much. In the few days we were there, we did just about every activity they offered.
The spa treatments were great. I have never been to a spa in the states. I couldn't believe how great I felt afterwards. We had a sugar scrub and also the tropical full body massage.
I can't believe how close these villages are to the big city and how they lack basic necessities. I wish I would have packed less for myself and taken an entire suitcase full of flip flops for the villagers.
Matt and Marie are new managers there. I liked the way the greeted us, allowed the staff to pretty much run the show, mixed with us and ask for our feed back. Sela, Kula, Amelia, Jo, Freddy, Lui, David, Oscar, Lela, Qoli, are some of the villagers that work at the resort and made our stay so awesome. Krista and Lars run the dive shop and activities. They too did a great job. I hope someone will share with all these great people how much this meant to us. I am currently staying at a 5 star place on another island in Fiji and I can't stop thinking of my friends at Lalati. Their farewell song has played in my head all day long.
If you are coming to Fiji and wondering what resort to choose, I highly recommend Lalati Resort and Spa. There are nicer places but there may not be a better experience.
Stayed September 2015, traveled as a couple
We're back from Fiji and have great memories (and a gazillion photos) from our trip! Lalati and Paradise Taveuni were both amazing spots; thank you so much for recommending them.
Thanks, Cindy! I will definitely be posting wonderful reviews of the resorts and SSA to Trip Advisor!
Where to even begin with Lalati? My husband and I just recently spent 10 amazing days at Lalati for our Honeymoon and could go on for DAYS about this fantastic resort. What an amazing experience at this perfect, quaint resort. From the local village visits, waterfall hike, amazing snorkeling, happy-hour trivia and the overall relaxation, we could not have asked for anything more. We arrived at the resort as new guests and left as friends, not only with other guests but with the staff as well. This was a trip of a lifetime and the most perfect honeymoon I could have ever dreamed of. Thank you Lalati!

Matangi Resort far exceeded our expectations in everything. The food, activities and service were definitely 5 star plus. We also did get to do a lot more activities here because the weather was more favorable. The complimentary foot massages with drinks was a nice bonus!
Lalati Resort was as we expected. I would give it 4 stars but with some improvement it could become a 5 star. The resort was nice and the people were friendly and accommodating. The house reef was excellent for snorkeling. The wedding went smoothly.
We had a great time at Lalati (and Fiji in general). While at Lalati went diving 6 of the 7 days, with two other divers on 2 of the days and by ourselves with the dive boat on 4 days. The other day was the shark dive (2 tanks). Lots of wildlife to see and plenty of fish. The water clarity varied significantly depending on current and run-off from the mainland so you did not know until you got down at the dive site. Even on sunny days the visibility could vary, and visibility was actually better on a day that it was raining. Ingrid has done more diving than I and she says that there were a lot more fish diving in Fiji than she had ever seen anyplace else – Bonaire, Great Barrier Reef, Thailand, Cozumel and Costa Rica.
The staff was terrific and we had no complaints about the food or accommodations. It was incredibly relaxing to have no TV, intermittent internet access and not a lot to do. We never had more than 5 couples at the resort (although they probably can accommodate 30 guests), and the other guests were mostly newlyweds on honeymoon. The place is quiet and secluded and so 9 or 10 hours of sleep every night! We did go over to Beqa Lagoon Resort for the fire-walking and a sunset cruise, and my impression is that there are more divers and more activity in general at Beqa Lagoon.
We would certainly recommend Lalati Resort and Beqa for a wonderful week of diving and relaxing. We also found my village and school where I taught at near Navua 42 years ago in the Peace Corps. The village had changed but some (4) remembered the Peace Corps teachers! The people really have not changed as the Fijians are still welcoming. I think that Suva has changed more than the village.
Hi Linda! I wanted to thank you so much for all your help planning our incredible trip. Ed didn't want to leave First Landing because it was so wonderful - and then... Lalati was everything you told me and much more!
I have traveled extensively and this was probably my favorite trip ever. Beautiful settings, incredible bures, Beato's special vegan food that he made for me - all amazing. The best part of all was the amazing staff. I miss them so much and we frequently look at our pictures with fond memories of them - attached are 2. : )
Thank you, thank you, thank you. We will want to go back as soon as we can scrape together the money. Please keep me posted for any super-hot deals to Lalati - probably can't go right away, but if we found an incredible deal - who knows?!
You do great work - if you ever need a reference from a client - consider me your person!
This was our second trip to Le Tahaa. South Seas Adventures handled both trips and we couldn't be happier. When I explained our vacation requirements to Tiffany, she instantly recommended Le Tahaa as the place for us. She was 100% correct. It met each and every one of our requirements and was so fantastic that we went back again. Tiffany again handled our arrangements and everything turned out perfectly. Logistics getting to Le Tahaa can be a bit difficult making sure you have flight times aligned with boats and such. Transfers were a dream. Each and every time we transferred there was someone with a sign with our name on it. I travel for business and having someone there to walk you from point A to point B is SO nice.
The resort itself is a relaxing paradise. We love the bungalows. Going to sleep with the sound of waves is so restful. We spend much of our time reading on the patio. It's fun to sit and watch the tropical clouds form over Tahaa or Bora Bora. There is a coral garden just minutes away from the resort pool. It is amazing and you are truly inside of a fish bowl. Bring a water bottle filled with bread and you will soon have 30 or 40 fish crowding around you. Le Tahaa has some good excursions that make for really fun days if you want to do something different. I do recommend the Polynesian lagoon day. Samuel is a wonderful boat skipper and his grandmother knows how to cook.
Our typical day is wake up around 8, put on a bathing suit and do an ocean walk from the bungalow. Get back and shower and be at the breakfast buffet by 10. Back to bungalow and read or rest with a possible walk in the ocean. We made the run to the store and bought some snacks and ate those in the room in the afternoon. Dinner was at the restaurant and then to bed. Very relaxing day.
We are completely satisfied with the service and recommendations from South Seas and Tiffany.
We just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for everything. We arrived back in NY last night still in awe of everything that we experienced. Everything was absolutely amazing. Likuliku was all that we had hoped for, and more...and we can't thank you enough. Everyone (especially at LikuLiku) was so attentive to my allergy needs and I truly felt like I didn't need to worry about anything.
I sound like a broken record, but everything was just perfect. It was the best trip we have ever been on and we will always remember it with all of the amazing things we saw an experienced.
Thank you again...and hopefully we'll be booking an anniversary trip in about 5 or 10 years! Haha – Rob
I know it has been a while since our trip to Fiji but as we were just reminiscing on our trip which we often do. The people were so incredibly friendly and just made the whole experience so special.
I also wanted to ask you to please keep me posted on any specials or discounts on trips back, particularly to LikuLiku. We would love the opportunity to go back some day, thank you so much for your help!
We loved Little Polynesia... the staff there were very gracious and welcoming... they went above and beyond, we feel like we really got to know them by the end of our time.
We also loved the Raro tours island tour... our guide was fantastic and we learned so much in that span of 4 hours... things she told us kept cropping up throughout the rest of our trip from restaurant recommendations/non-recommendations (we tried on she said not to go to and we realize why she said that!!), etc. etc. She was great.
We also loved the over water show... which we weren't sure if we were gonna like since it's so touristy. But loved it... great food, the picking up and taking home after was lovely, and the people were super nice!!
Oh, and the dine around program was super-convenient as well... all the restaurants we tried on it were awesome, including our hotel!
We loved it... thank you so much for your help! I'll for sure refer you out to anyone i know heading to the South Pacific area!
Thank you so much for booking us. We all had a great time. Chris, my husband loves the Octopus Resort, he likes the rustic setting there. The Fijian are so very friendly and hospitable. Our family went to the village tour, and we all did the Snorkel excursion. I like the Mana Resort better, since I like more modern accommodation :). On both islands, we had such a great weather, clear turquoise water, spectacular coral reef, and colorful fish. We all finally be able to see the Southern Cross Constellation. What more could a girl ask for ;)
We just came back from a five-day stay at Mana Island Resort and Spa and wanted to share our experience.
The snorkeling, the colorful seascape, the beaches, the buffet, and the location were great. Looking at the North Beach dining facility structure under construction, I can imagine how AWESOME the resort will be in a few month time when the work is completed.
First, I want to acknowledge the elephant in the room. Yes, some of the resort's North Beach facilities are under-going a reconstruction. We did experience some inconveniences because our room was right next to the construction site. But we are not complaining, instead we commend our travel agents, Linda Gutekunst of South-Seas Adventures and Idi of Rosie Holidays, and Mana Resort Management for working together to address our concerns. The experience reminds us how indispensable a good travel agent is when things do not go as planned.
Book a room way from the construction site and you would not even know there is a construction going-on. But you still get the benefits of free breakfast buffet (impressive spread of fresh tropical island fruits, pastries, salads, stir-fried vegetables, American style breakfast dishes including made-to-order omelette and eggs benedict) and additional credit for each day you stay. It will be all gain and no pain by taking this simple step. Do check out the ocean-front bures (rooms): large front porch with sitting area; impressive room size with beautiful hard-wood floor.
Mana resort sits on a prime estate, having access to beautiful beaches on both its North and South sides. This is a major plus, it enabled us to maximize time in the water. On the 3rd day of our stay, it was a bit windy to snorkel on the South beach so we moved to the North beach and was surprised to find it was as nice and calm as can be.
I wish we can come back after the construction is completed and to see Mana resort at its best, as I see it in my mind eye.
Sunset Beach, Lookout Point, Kasai Bar on the sand oh my!
I wanted to say thank you for everything you did for our trip!!! We had an amazing time!!! Matangi is an incredible place, there are no words to describe how unbelievable our experience was.
Do you rep only places in the South Pacific or do you stretch to other areas? Just wondering for future travel
We got back from Fiji on 10/20/15 and have been trying to catch up on sleep ever since. The jet lag really hit us hard on the way home. We had a wonderful time in Fiji in spite of some inclement weather. The seas were a bit rough while we were on the Island Dancer II so we didn't get to dive some of the usual sites. However, the diving was still great and the corals were phenomenal. We enjoyed our brief stay at the Taveuni Island Resort. We dove the White Wall and went to the Tavoro waterfall while there. However, our stay in Matangi was probably the highlight of the trip. Kay runs a wonderful resort and she certainly sets an example for her staff as she is so friendly and accommodating. We're sure you probably heard that she upgraded us to a treehouse because of South Seas Adventures great relations with Matangi. Even though Chuck doesn't like stairs (because of his prosthetic leg) he was willing to walk up the 44 stairs to stay in the treehouse. Our only regret is that we didn't get to see Matangi with the sun shining. We arrived in rain and left in rain with a few dry/cloudy spots in between. We hope to visit Australia again in a couple of years and we will definitely add a side trip to Fiji and most likely Matangi also.
Thank you very much for helping us organize such a wonderful trip. I will certainly write reviews for South Seas Adventures and Matangi on tripadvisor.com (just give me a few days, I'm still catching up on laundry).
We had a great trip, thanks. Fiji is a wonderful country. I think the people are my favorite of any place I have been.
Matangi was our favorite by far--perfect. If we ever return to Fiji, we will go there again for sure. Horseshoe Bay is my favorite beach I have ever been to. We loved Christine.
Thanks for arranging our trip.
We will likely do another trip to this part of the world in a few years and will be in touch.
When someone plans a vacation, half a world away, to an exotic location like Fiji and then adds in a 30th anniversary, one tends to have very high hopes and expectations. I can honestly say that those hopes and expectations were exceeded! You did a fantastic job, thank you.
And to be able to also meet you and Don in person was a nice treat. A few days before I was kidding Rhonda on Koro Makawa that you must have a lot of guts since by the time we met you we would either be very happy or ready to feed you to the sharks; needless to say the sharks went hungry. I have already had the opportunity to provide a referral to someone in my office and you can count on others.
I just want to thank you for all your help planning our trip. It was amazing!! It was exactly what we wanted! Perfect location, Perfect People, Perfect Bure, Perfect wedding, Perfect food, Perfect everything!! Thank you so much! We feel in love with the people from Matangi, and when we left, it was like we were leaving family, and was actually heart breaking! After posting our wedding pictures on Facebook, I have a lot of people inquiring about Fiji now. I am sending them your way. Thanks again Gregory!
P.S. Diving was amazing! I did miss the last dive, which was the Yellow Wall, because I was having problems with my ears!
I just wanted to send a quick note and thank you again, so much, for helping us schedule our trip to Fiji. South Sea Adventures found the PERFECT place for Eric and I to go on our honeymoon… Matangi was exactly what we wanted, and far exceeded any expectations we had. We enjoyed every moment on the island, and all of the Matangi personnel were so cheerful and friendly that both of us were quite sad to leave them! If you get a chance, please tell them all we said thank you very much for making our honeymoon more than memorable– they made it perfect.
Wow! Amazing, unbelievable and fantastic South Seas Vacation. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Matangi. You were so right and we could not have been happier. The diving was amazing. Ally was an amazing dive guide. We had her to ourselves for most of the trip which was awesome. The people, food, and activities were unbelievable. Now we just have to adjust to regular life Thank you so much for working with me as I wasted my time hunting through all the options. You couldn’t have been more right about the trip. 10 nights there was the best honeymoon we could have had in Fiji. I cannot wait to go back!
We had an absolutely wonderful time on Matangi Island. Our agent, Sarah, was incredibly helpful as we researched honeymoon options, compared prices, and selected our trip. She was also very helpful with creating our honeymoon registry.
Matangi was a dream comes true. From the moment we arrived, it felt like “home.” We stayed in a treehouse burre, which we loved. Daily activities provided entertainment when we desired it but we also felt very comfortable just relaxing at the resort. The property offers many different places to spend your day. The food was great. Even more important, though, was the staff. They were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed spending time relaxing with them on rainy days or in the evening learning about the Fijian culture. Matangi offers a place to escape the hustle and bustle of real life, a place to relax and connect, and a place to immerse yourself in local culture. Matangi will always have a special place in our hearts and we are already dreaming about returning someday.
Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time in Fiji! The resort was terrific! The staff was friendly, the food delicious, and plenty of activities! If we had to choose again, we definitely would stay here! The treehouse was beautiful and very clean. We LOVED the trip, the staff, the resort, the treehouse! We went snorkeling every day, we went on the waterfall excursion and pearl farm tour, hike around the island, went on the guided kayaking, and swam in their pool. It was great! Thank you once again for all of your hard work in making our Honeymoon a once in a lifetime adventure!!!!!
Matangi was AWESOME! We loved every minute we had there. I literally cried like a baby when we left. What a beautiful and special place. We will be back someday! The food was fantastic, the staff was fabulous and the room was great! No complaints here! I did have a chance to do a couple dives too which was also great. I have left a review of Matangi on Trip Advisor and I will do so for SSA as well. We met a few other couples who used you guys too! And your signature drink at the bar is a good one ;)
Thank you for providing us with an amazing and memorable honeymoon. I appreciate all that you did for us. The romantic package that you added on last minute was truly special. I am so glad we did not miss out on any of that. Horseshoe Bay is quite an experience. Thank you again!
Looking forward to booking are next trip back there with you in the future!
Food was plentiful and tasty, cabins are pleasant and the plumbing works.
We’re on vacation today, so I have some free time. Thank you so much for putting together our honeymoon! When I happened upon the SSA website while doing a google search for vacations in the South Pacific, I knew I need not look anywhere else. I thought the website was extremely well laid out, and made it super easy to narrow choices. I also loved the detailed descriptions of all inclusions and estimated prices per person for each resort. Also, I was very pleased with the time frame I was contacted in after requesting a quote.
Cindy, I really appreciated that you put together a few quotes with different resorts and destinations, and helped me weigh the pros and cons of each rather than just try to push one or two options. After I decided on Fiji, your personal insight of each resort was a big help in deciding between Namale and Qamea. Namale was absolutely AMAZING, and I see why it is the top recommended Fiji resort on the SSA website. Ellen was very surprised; she was convinced were going somewhere in the Carribean. Our bure, Lomani, was very romantic, and the view from the deck was stunning! We couldn’t believe how friendly and welcoming the staff and locals were! Everyone knew our name without having to ask twice, and we truly felt like we were part of the Namale family. The last day we were there they upgraded us to one of the villas, Duavata. It was an incredibly romantic villa, and though we were only able to experience it for a day, it was very much appreciated. We also made friends with some fellow honeymooners from Ohio and Australia, and had a dinner party with them the last night we were there. It’s always nice coming home from new places with new friends. We had an unforgettable time! It was truly a dream honeymoon…well worth the investment, and a pleasure to work with you, Cindy!
I just wanted to write you and let you know that we had an AMAZING time in Fiji! It’s the best vacation we’ve ever been on and was all the more special because it was our honeymoon. The destination couldn’t have been more perfect; the scenery, the weather, the amenities, and the people were all absolutely fantastic. It wouldn’t have been possible to do without your help. It was flawless, more than what we expected! We’ll definitely be keeping you in mind for any other South Seas vacations we decide to take. Thanks again for you all of your help!
As you should know, your trip to Fiji was fantastic. We absolutely loved it. We loved everything we did, the places we saw, the food we ate, and the people we met. In all the traveling we’ve ever done, we’ve never had a trip that was so well organized. The transfers and flights were amazing. Thanks for all you did.
I write a lot of reviews on Tripadvisor. I already reviewed Lalati and Qamea Resorts. I will review South Seas Adventures sometime soon.
I’m sure you know this, but what made Fiji amazing was the people. We loved them from the moment we got on the plane. We cried everytime we went somewhere new as our new friends sang to us.
This was our 2nd trip to Taveuni Island and first to Qamea Resort where we spent 9 nights and enjoyed every minute of our vacation. Linda, with South Seas Adventures found us the perfect scuba diving and anniversary celebration package-she worked her magic and we're extremely grateful for her expertise on Fiji. She's also a diver and has stayed at many of the Fiji resorts multiple times, knows most of the staff and owners personally and answered our questions promptly. Linda booked our international and inter-island flights and no details were over-looked. She's great to work with and we highly recommend her company.
Qamea resort and staff strive to make your stay unforgettable- they remember your name and favorite drink and had a pot of fragrant hot green tea waiting for me each morning before we headed-off to dive. If you don't see something on the menu, just ask, they're more than accommodating -they make each guest feel welcomed and will go out of their way to do so. The staff surprised us one night after dinner by delivering a personalized cake to the room for our anniversary and serenaded us too. The food is fresh and being a vegetarian who also eats fish, I never went hungry. You have lots to choose from on the menu for each meal and the service is superb. The outdoor pizza oven is a unique find and the chef has many toppings to make one happy. Each day has a special meal and we enjoyed the lunch barbecue of freshly caught and grilled local fish. The open air tropical dining room is beautiful and since the resort limits the number of guests you never have to wait for anything and every table has fabulous views. Yes, cocktails on exotic faraway islands are expensive, but their drink menu is varied and bartenders can mix your favorites. Our ocean front bure was roomy and luxurious with crisp linen sheets and had a large comfy queen bed. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower and large supply of wall mounted shower gel and shampoo. They thought of everything in the bathroom, and I might suggest a lighted makeup mirror to complete the inviting bathroom. Housekeeping service was twice daily and fresh flowers always greeted us. The resort gave us free sports water bottles to fill up from the cold service fountain and the island prides itself on being environmentally friendly, yet luxurious. Although you have an electronic room key and your door automatically locks, you feel extremely safe on the small island and comfortable leaving the door open to enjoy the ocean view. We were there the last week of March and into early April-had no problem with mosquitos. It was at the end of the rainy season with just one day of rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits or our diving. South Seas Adventures is up to date with airline baggage allowance, so make sure you don't over pack- it's casual at the resort and people wear what they feel most comfortable in to each meal- no shoes needed! I'd say half the people at the resort the week we were there were honeymooners, (no children under 16 yrs old)but the resort is laid out so nicely with private walkways and gardens and hedges around each bure one forgets that other people are vacationing on the island.
The scuba diving is low key and this is a compliment- you are never rushed. On several mornings we were the only ones going out on the boat and they helped us choose the dive spots based on the weather, waves, ocean current and what we wanted to experience or see. The coral and fish life directly in front of the resort are very healthy and we enjoyed snorkeling the house reef. We got to sample 2 dive boats and prefer the larger one that has easier access for getting in and out of the water. The smaller boat made for a wild ride adventure out to the Purple Wall where we saw several new species of fish plus tackled some challenging current, but loved it! We brought our own dive equipment and stored it each night at the shop and found it waiting and ready for us each morning. Their dive equipment looked new and you could rent dive computers, snorkel gear and wet suits. We wore 2.5 mm, long sleeve shorty wet suits and water temperature was a perfect 80 degrees with the deepest dive being 90 feet. On the previous trip to Taveuni we dove the Great White Wall and other terrific sites in the Somo Somo Strait which are about one hour by boat from the resort, but you can book these dive excursions in advance. The majority of the local dive sites are within a 10-15 minute boat ride and one called the Coral Gardens was exceptional- saw lots of turtles, a few reef sharks, colorful nudibranchs, and dainty garden eels. We wanted a relaxing resort with a variety of amenities that also had good diving and found Qamea to be a perfect combination. The dive instructors were friendly and although the 'casual' Fijian style is there too, they're skilled professional master divers and many have been with the resort for over 15 years. Our package included daily massages and we looked forwarded to this luxury after a day of diving. The jungle spa and tropical treatment rooms are beautiful and offer a variety of relaxing and tempting services. It's hard to pick one favorite at Qamea, but the staff is at the top of the list. The resort was putting the finishing touches on the main office and boutique gift shop when we were there and if I can leave one recommendation for the resort manager, Julie; we'd love to see a collection of local handicrafts from the staff and local villages be available for guests to purchase. We heard that Bubba, besides being a fantastic bartender and food server, is a talented artist, but it was too late to see his Fijian paintings and drawings before our flight back home.
We also visited the local school and booked a few land excursions, but didn't fit in paddling boarding or kayaking though the equipment looked great-lots to do if you want to be active or relax with a good book by the pool. We got up early each morning to walk the long beach to see what the midnight tides left- saw several exquisite and very large nautilus shells.
We'd love to take our adult kids back to Qamea for fantastic diving and a relaxing family vacation and hope to move this up soon on the wish list!
Stayed April 2015, travelled as a couple
Everything went according to plan. Diving was excellent at both Heron Island and Qamea.
Qamea couldn't have been better. Everything about it, especially the people, was unforgettable. We would visit again in a heartbeat. Also, Ben Brodie does a superb job of running the dive operation. Very impressive for someone only 24 years old.
Thank you for putting this trip together for us.
Bula Cindy! Just letting you know our honeymoon in Qamea was amazing! We had such a great time, the people were so nice and friendly, everything was perfect! We were treated like family from the moment we set foot on the island. It's such a beautiful place I'm glad you helped us find it, thank you so much! We loved it so much that we recommended it to a coworker and gave them your contact info, they are very interested and they will get in touch with you soon! We hope to go back for an anniversary someday: -)
My husband and I wanted to go where we could get the best of both worlds: action and relaxation. Qamea resort and spa was perfect! They have daily activities that take you all around Qamea and Taveuni Islands, where you can see the marine life as well as visit local villages. Beyond that, the spa at Qamea is possibly the best thing we've ever experienced. It's in the middle of a jungle, totally isolate, yet completely open. It's like nothing else I've ever experienced. Not to mention the staff - they are AMAZING! They introduce themselves to you the first day you're there and then they all say hello every time they see you at the dining bure. I was so sad to leave because I felt like I'd become close with the staff, who all want to make sure you are completely happy. They even sing a Fijian farewell song when you leave!!!
None of this would have been possible without South Seas Adventure travel agency. We got in contact with them and were assigned to Tree. Within a day, she had asked us all the important questions and narrowed down three different areas, all of which had great options. After that, we just asked all our questions (not that we had many, because they were so thorough), and made our selection. Everything was taken care of from there. When we arrived at Qamea, our spa session had already been booked and all of our meals were paid for. Plus, just knowing that we could call Tree if we had any issues gave Matt and I a LOT of comfort. We knew that no matter what happened, we weren't going to have to stress about a thing for our honeymoon.
Tree, just wanted to tell you Royal Davui was everything we anticipated with a good deal more in the way of community. Staff was fantastic. Got a tour of the grounds with the owner, Margaret Southwick. Villa 5 was great. We definitely hope to return. The Pearl is in the midst of construction and otherwise about as expected – adequate for adjusting to arrival and for touring in that area and jumpoff to Royal Davui. The Arts Center at Pacific Harbor as intro to Fiji culture and Upper Navua Gorge whitewater rafting were both better than expected. All in all, a great time. Thanks for your help in setting up a terrific honeymoon!
We've returned from our trip...still a little jet lagged. Royal Davui was a fantastic resort and we really enjoyed our stay there. The weather was not very good, but there is not much to do about that except maybe go earlier in the season. It was worth waiting for villa 5 - the deck was amazing when we were able to use it. Thank you so much for helping us with this vacation.
Cindy: Bob and I want to THANK YOU for our wonderful trip to Samoa and Sinalei! The resort was beautiful and all went well there. We rented a car and saw the sites and the beautiful beaches. Truly enjoyed the outings you had set up; Our Samoan guide was very knowledgeable and one of the excursions was to his village and fare for a welcome ceremony and a kava ceremony in the native tongue which was interpreted by a participant to us during the ceremony.
Island very beautiful with beautiful flowers/landscaping in the villages; the people were very friendly and welcomed us. One of the highlights for me was going to church on Sunday - it was their Whit Sunday celebration of children and it was a joy to see the children and families dressed in white to celebrate the holiday and worship with their families.
Where to next????
Thank you Cindy!
We had an amazing time on our 5th year anniversary at Soffitel. Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed every moment on our stay, very relaxing. Being a vegetarian K restaurant delivered an amazing courses on our private dinner. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
All of this was not possible without Tiffany at South Seas Adventures where we booked everything. No problem at all through our journey.
We had a wonderful time in Fiji. Taveuni Island and Resort was magnificent and was our favorite part of the trip...the service, food, and scenery was beyond compare. We also enjoyed are stay at the Sofitel and had a good time on the Sea Spray cruise. Rosie Holiday was very helpful on all accounts especially in taking care of us when our return flight home experienced a significant delay.
Thanks for recommending Taveuni and for setting everything up for us!!
We returned from Yasawa on Sunday night. This was our fifth trip to Fiji in addition to trips to a lot of other islands. We feel Yasawa Island Resort offers more than their competitor resorts. There is no contest. Through talking to other guests while we were there, we confirmed all rated Yasawa #1. Several had been to other “high end” resorts immediately before arriving at Yasawa. All felt Yasawa is superior. I would have been so disappointed if I had chosen another resort (and had somehow learned about what we had missed by not going to Yasawa). The experience we enjoyed over the past two weeks was almost perfect (superior food, happy staff, wonderful rooms, beaches, weather, etc.).
